FAQs

Have a question? Below are some questions our attorneys get asked regularly. If you have a question that is not on this list, please feel free to call us at (309) 685-7900 or contact us online.

I’m thinking of filing for divorce. What’s the first step?

The first step is to meet with a lawyer to discuss all of your options. Every situation is unique. Is it an agreed divorce or a contested divorce? Do you have children? Do you own or rent your home? Do you or your spouse have a retirement account? The answer to these questions will help determine which approach is best for your particular situation, and the attorneys at the Brave Law Center, P.C. have the experience to help anyone in any situation, no matter how unique.

Is it better to just pay off my traffic ticket, or to take it to court?

In some cases, paying your traffic ticket is the fastest and easiest way to get back on the road, but not always. Paying your ticket could potentially suspend your license, and even if it doesn’t, additional tickets on your record, especially if you are a minor, could cause a future suspended license or an increase in insurance premiums. Our attorneys can help you determine the best way to proceed.

What if I have a child and I, or my ex, wants to move out of state?

You need one of our attorneys to work with you on an action plan to facilitate either you moving with your child out of state, or fighting your ex in moving your child out of state. Your attorneys need to thoroughly prepare for trial, taking into consideration numerous factors, including the reasons for the move and the benefit to the child in staying verses moving. We can help modify parenting plans and child-related financial obligations by agreement, and if there can be no agreement, we can proceed to trial.

What Our

Clients Say

Very proficient with handling my case for reasonable fees. If you hate elevators like me, it saves the hassle of the BIG downtown buildings. And ya gotta love their TV ads!

Patrick,

Probate matter

If you should need an attorney while driving through Illinois or for any other legal problems, we advise you to contact Jason at Brave Law Center. He helped us tremendously, and we are very grateful for that.

Janice,

Speeding ticket

AMAZING!!! I currently live out of the state of Illinois and had an issue arise with my case over some incomplete public service hours and was possibly looking at two years in prison for it. Completely terrified, I put my trust into Jason and his AMAZING staff Amanda and Dwayne and without fail my case is closed. Thank you all so much for saving me and my family loads of grief and heartache! I will recommend Brave Law to anyone I know of in need in the area!

Stephanie,

Petition to revoke

Jason Netzley did an amazing job with my court case. Wouldn’t have had anyone else to defend me. Jason and his staff Amanda and Dwayne are extremely nice, easy to talk to, very knowledgeable and go out of their way to help you through what you’re going through. Jason in the courtroom was great! That day the judge and myself got a lesson from Jason about how the new and old laws work. We were both impressed!

Dane,

Traffic citation

Jason Netzley is the cream of the crop. I’d recommend him to anyone. Not only is he an awesome attorney, but he’s just an awesome person in general. He represented me in my custody case 10 years ago and I recently retained him again to help me with something. From one nerd to another, thanks for everything Jason!

Abby

Very helpful and saved my behind. I’ve worked with Jason twice. Loved that it almost seemed that he took the case personally. On top of everything, he was affordable and worked with my financial situation.

Mickey,

Criminal law client

Jason is amazing! Keep your faith in him, and he will definitely help you out. I’ve already referred him to a few other people because he’s just that good

Darrell,

DUI

We just wanted a simple will for my mom, and Amanda make it so very easy.  She brought up points and ideas we didn’t even think of! We’re very grateful for her and all her expertise!  She made the process so easy, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t have help. The receptionist is a marvelous young man who makes you feel so at ease when you call, e-mail, and show up!  His smile is contagious, and his laugh made us so comfortable.

Helen,

Estate planning

Jason is an experienced DUI prosecutor – making him a talented defense attorney.
Most impressive was the obvious respect his peers and the court staff have for him; it really showed his superior professionalism in the courtroom.
Creighton,

DUI

Not only did Jason work out a deal where my felony didn’t even go as a conviction, he went out of his way to contact the prosecutor and convince them that I was on the right track and give me another chance. I’m glad I hired him because I’d be screwed if I didn’t.
